This was the 4th fire station built by Creative Structures, and the island’s 1st LEED-certified station. The 12,237 sq. ft. building includes 3 fire truck bays, 8 bunk rooms, a full kitchen with dining room, a day room, an exercise room, and a training facilities room.
Some examples of how we achieved LEED Silver Certification was through using an underground rainwater harvesting system, pervious paving, recycling 75% of construction waste, light-colored building materials to decrease the Heat Island effect, and using materials that contain very low if any VOC’s.
